So, less than a month ago (if my memory serves me right) I got a new phone. It's HTC Desire C. I love it. It's like a mini tab. I'm going to get Google Nexus 7 soon though, but for now this phone is working like a nice tab. I've been addicted to some cool apps (recently alchemy). But what I want to post about is the app called 'Evernote' that almost everyone seems to be crazy about. OK, I downloaded it on this phone, & my desktop & installed it on my laptop too. For now, I just find it another software to jot my notes to. I don't really find it as useful as people are sucking it's big dick. The only things I think are helpful for me are, synching of files on server & putting a different kind of stuff in one place. Other than that I don't really find it that special. OK, it has this OCR thing but unfortunately, I don't have a shelf for my books, my DVDs are usually scattered & my Video Games are in different dark place, so I don't know how to use this feature. I tried photographing a business card & a handwritten note but apparently it didn't recognize the text since it didn't come up in search results. I still prefer windows notepads & words to keep huge text info. I synch them on my computer using Mesh as much as I hate microsoft. One thing that pisses me off is that when I read reviews, I notice that people tend to compare it to actual notepads & papers as if they've never used computer note pads in their entire life. "Oh, how it saves papers..." & "I don't need to keep paper scraps." or "No more office files on the table." As if Evernote is the only way you can keep notes digitally. Now, I've made a few notes on it such as for clothes, like which shirt should go with which pair of pants but I don't really see how this would come in handy as I feel I may not even care at times about my note when I want to change into clothes after shower. I've made other notes about other stuff but I really don't see anything special happening to them. So the only good things for me for now are:
1. Accessing notes from anywhere (sp on my cell) &
2. Putting different kinds of stuff in once place.
I think Evernote may come in handy when I'm out doing bird photography as it can keep location data, so I can remember what bird I saw where & when. But it would suck to type a lot of info on a cell. I've tried looking for examples on the internet but I haven't found any that would make me feel that Evernote is different than other notepads.
